Katerina Vlantoni recently started her PhD project at
the Department of Philosophy and History of Science, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Katerina graduated from the MA ESST (University of Maastricht) at
October 2006. The topic of her master’s thesis is "a conceptual
analysis of vulnerability". She focused on the risk and
vulnerability studies regarding technological systems, disasters and
natural hazards. She holds a B.Sc in Philosophy and History of
Science from the University of Athens (2005).
Her research is focused on the
technological accidents. She is interested in accident analysis,
risk, preparedness systems, and infrastructures’ disruptions. Since
autumn 2007 she participates in the EUROCRIT project (she is part of
the AP group of Dr. Aristotle’s Tympas, National and Kapodistrian
University of Athens, Greece), which belongs to the Inventing Europe
programme supported by the ESF.
She speaks fluently Greek (mother tongue) and English, and
she has an advanced level of Spanish.
